White face (n.)

Black face (n.): a costume method used by the nascent Hollywood movie industry in which white actors would prepare to play black roles by coating their faces in charcoal.

White face (n.) : A political statement; a survival mechanism; a method used by some to ward off police brutality which involves painting their skin with white paint, bleaching their afros blonde, and squirting blue ink on the browns of their pupils. You see, a white flag is a sign of peace. It's a way of saying "I mean no harm." White, is the color of the cane that the blind man uses to get around.  I suppose white face  is useful when society claims to be "colorblind". White face is much more dangerous than bleaching.  At least, bleaching creams are made for skin. White paint is for whitening white walls. White face is the desperate, semi-delusional, act of shedding black skin like it's a flaking, leprous, cloak of sores. White face is like that clever village woman  who paints her chicks pink to confuse the preying hawks.
