African Takeover Day

Today, the second to last day of February 2015 (A.K.A Black History Month) is African Takeover day: A time when people wear their African pride on their sleeves--literally.

Now, I suppose this is what I should expect at a university where 85% of the student body loves claiming Africa, even if they don't know what tribe or country they hail from. Or, in general expect some partying to ensue when many Africans congregate in the same place. Where some people were trying to enjoy lunch, others were not doing much eating in the cafeteria.

#Flashback Fridays. So, unfortunately I did not know this week was African Takeover until it was too late to get an outfit. In the spirit of the times, this is me from ATOD 2014! Peep my fellow Africans smiling in the background.
